Facebook Launches New Analytics for “Like” Data

I think this is huge for demographic research. Here’s a snip of what it is:

“Having good analytics is a key to successfully growing a business. To provide you with even better metrics for your Facebook applications, websites, and Pages, we recently launched an improved Insights dashboard.

The new Insights dashboard is your single source for all your Facebook analytics needs for:

  • Websites: Fully-integrated sites and those that use social plugins, or add a non-integrated domain in one easy step
  • Applications: Including canvas, mobile, device, and desktop applications
  • Facebook Pages: Including Pages created on Facebook.com and those that are part of the Open Graph protocol

For example, you can now view analytics around specific stories liked on your website, or how many users commented on posts made on your Page (note that this is anonymized aggregate data and does not include personally identifiable information). From there, you will have a better idea of what your audience finds most interesting and capitalize on that content.”

First off I am in no way associated or being compensated for this product, nor do I “officially” endorse it. Just passing it along as it looks like a cool tool to help with the creation of ads for advertising on Plenty of Fish. Here are the bullet points taken directly from his website:

  • Create 1000’s of ads in minutes. – Now you can work on your landing pages while the ad uploader is working in the background.

  • Split test ad copies and images. - Since Plenty of Fish is based on CPM pricing, getting the right ad copy and image combination is key to keep CTRs up.

  • Split test demographics. – It takes a lot of time to test different demographics when manually uploading ads. With Mr Green’s POF ad uploader, you can quickly test a range of demographics so you can easily find that perfect setting to get cheap clicks.

  • Export/Import CSV files. - You can now save any campaigns you have previously run, and easily upload them when you wish.

  • Subid generator. - Easily track which of your creatives are converting.

  • No long loading times for ads to be generated – You don’t need to keep your browser open for long periods of time in order for ads to be loaded onto POF. It will take maximum 3 minutes.

  • Blow competition out of the water! - Competition is was tough on POF. Now you can upload and test ads 100’s of times faster than your competitors.

Webtrends Launches Analytics for Facebook Marketers

Quoted from http://mashable.com/2010/02/25/webtrends-facebook-analytics/ If you use Facebook for Adverts….I can see where this would be BA!

“Webtrends, a company that offers marketers detailed web analytics, has rolled out new measurement capabilities for Facebook, including the ability to view Facebook data alongside data for other channels.

Tools like this are useful because Facebook’s own platform for this, Facebook Insights, runs three days behind, doesn’t measure custom tabs or apps, and doesn’t integrate with analytics for other digital marketing channels.

The tools work inside Facebook (Facebook) to provide detailed analytics data about applications, custom tabs, brand pages, contests and advertisements, among other things. This wasn’t easy to achieve because most of Facebook (Fan Pages included) doesn’t allow JavaScript, but Webtrends developed a custom API to get around that. Third-party applications built on the Facebook platform are easier because JavaScript is permitted.

The special features here are the ones related to comparing data between Facebook and other digital channels. For example, you can see how much traffic is being driven to your Facebook Fan Pages by Twitter (Twitter) updates, or you can overlay Facebook Fan Page activity with that on corporate blog posts.”

Google Sets, your new friend

I’ve recently discovered Google Sets…. It’s an awesome niche finder. Here’s how it works. You type in some basics, for ex. weight loss, diet, nutrition then click the button and it finds other related niches. For the example it gave me some more general niches but you get the idea. Plug in some of your niches and see what it comes up with, I guarantee it gives you some you didn’t think of. http://labs.google.com/sets

Google Squared. How it can help you.

by Mike Guindon on Jun.04, 2009, under Tools

So if you haven’t used or even know about Google Labs Squared, I’ll give you a run down. Basically it takes what ever you search for and gives you the results in spreadsheet form. So this is how I can envision using this to an AM’s (affiliate marketer) advantage.

Lets say you have an Eharmony campaign running but you want to do direct local targeting to each major city for your campaigns. Ex. “Detroit Dating”, “Chicago Dating”, etc. That way the keyword is targeted to that local area. So instead of you having to come up with every major US city, you just use Google Squared to give you a list of all those cities.

You do a search for Major US Cities. You get it to give you a full listing of all the major cities. You close the other “cells” that are useless data to you only leaving the cities names. Now you can copy/paste into Excel, Google Spreadsheets, etc. giving you a full list of keywords. Then you can suck that info into your campaigns or build new ones (this is where I would suggest something like SpeedPPC so you don’t spend literally all day building 100’s of campaigns by hand).
